Privacy Policy

Overview
Screencap does not collect, store, transmit, or share any user data. All screenshot capture and image editing occurs entirely within your browser. No information is sent to any external server.
Data Collection
Screencap collects no data whatsoever. Specifically:
- No personally identifiable information
- No health, financial, or authentication information
- No browsing history or web activity tracking
- No website content is persisted or transmitted
- No analytics, tracking, or telemetry of any kind
How Screenshots Are Handled
Captured images exist only in temporary browser session memory. Screenshot pixel data is processed entirely in-memory and is never transmitted to any server. Data is discarded when the browser session ends.
Permissions
Screencap requests the minimum browser permissions necessary to function:

| activeTab | Access the currently active tab to capture a screenshot of the visible page content when you click the extension or use a keyboard shortcut. |
| clipboardWrite | Write the captured or edited screenshot image to your clipboard so you can paste it into other applications. |
| storage | Temporarily hold the captured screenshot in session storage so it can be passed from the capture step to the built-in image editor. Cleared when the browser session ends. |
| scripting | Inject the selection overlay UI into the active tab so you can draw a rectangle to select a specific area of the page to capture. |
Third Parties
Screencap does not sell or transfer user data to third parties. There are no third-party scripts, SDKs, or services embedded in the extension.
Remote Code
Screencap does not use remote code. All JavaScript, CSS, and HTML is bundled at build time. No code is loaded from external servers at runtime.

If this policy is ever updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
